If fees are paid beyond the due payment period, a late payment rate of up to CAD 100 can be applied. The CAD 90 ELC application fee and the CAD 110 University application fee are non-refundable and are not included in the course payments.

Scholarships for International Undergraduate Students
The International Undergraduate Student Entrance Scholarship was created to recognize academic achievement in international students graduating from international high schools and enrolling at the University of Manitoba.
Scholarships may be awarded to candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Are international students (i.e., students with valid study permits in Canada) who qualified for admission to either Faculty or School at the University of Manitoba by the beginning of March each year
- Are paying the tuition costs for international students
- Centred on the top five academic courses from the accepted list, have a minimum high school score of 85%
- Every year, the prestige of each award is tiered depending on high school grade averages
Scholarships for International Undergraduate Students
The Foreign Undergraduate Student Scholarship was created to recognize international students at The University of Manitoba who have excelled academically.
Scholarships are available to international students who meet the following criteria:
- Are studying in Canada with a valid research permit
- Who have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours in any Faculty or School at the University of Manitoba; who have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours in any Faculty or School at the University of Manitoba
- Demonstrate outstanding academic success on classes taken in the preceding normal academic session (minimum sessional grade point average of 3.5). They are continuing full-time training of their curriculum throughout the Fall/Winter academic session for the second straight year
- Scholarships will be awarded to qualifying candidates depending on their sessional grade point average before all remaining funds are spent or the grade point requirement is met
Postgraduate Scholarships Schemes
- Graduate Fellowships at the University of Manitoba (UMGF)
The UMGF Fellowships are worth CAD 14,000 for Master's students and CAD 18,000 for Ph.D. students for a 12-month term. Please consult your department for information about how to apply for a UM Graduate Fellowship.
- Fellowship named after G. Clarence Elliott
The fellowship, which is named after a former Winnipeg vice-president and treasurer of The Great-West Life Assurance Company, is worth up to CAD 10,000.

You can only begin working in Canada after you have started your studies. You can’t work before the start of your research. If your study permit has a clause for you to live on or off-campus, you can work as an international student in Canada.
If you meet the following criteria, you can work on your school's campus without a work permit are enrolled full-time in a post-secondary institution that:
- In Quebec, a CEGEP is a public post-secondary institution, such as a college or university
- A private college-level school in Quebec that follows the same laws as public schools and receives at least half of its funding from the state, or
- A valid research permit is needed for every Canadian private school to grant degrees under provincial law lawfully
- Possess a Social Security Number (SIN)
You can no longer work on campus:
- On the day you complete your full-time studies
- When your research permit is up for renewal
- If you've been permitted to take a break from your studies
- If you're changing colleges and aren't enrolled in classes
